Industry in Laredo, TX

Laredo has recently become one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. It is a wholesale and retail center for a large area on both sides of the Rio Grande. Some of the more vital pieces of industry for Laredo's economy are cattle ranching, irrigated farming, oil production, mining and smelting. There are also a wide variety of products that are manufactured in the city which include clothing, military supplies, candles, steel products, and leather goods. Laredo has close economic ties with its larger sister city in Mexico, Nuevo Laredo, with which it is linked to by two international bridges.
